Former Miss Malaika beauty queen Hamamat Montia has been set free by an Accra high circuit court .She was charged with stealing of a Toyota Highlander 4WD by her ex-boyfriend.The Accra High Circuit Court ruled out the charge and that Hamamat did not steal the car she had been accused of.The prosecution failed to prove that indeed the beauty queen committed the crime and was therefore acquitted and discharged.

Her ex-boyfriend,Versa Keskinen accused her of stealing the vehicle worth $35,000 which he claimed he bought for her.It emerged during the trial that Versa Keskinen had happily bought the vehicle for Hamamat as a gift on her birthday and registered it in her name but turned to accuse her of stealing when their relationship turned sour.
The court said Versa could not prove that the car which was registered in the name of Hamamat indeed belonged to him even though he bought it for her.
